just thought ad give out a wee idea to stop people not uploading much (i suspect most people but not all) on this site and wonder if adding a download/upload ratio would help. reason im asking is i go to demonoid and i DL a movie with 100seeds and it will go at over 1.5mb/s but on here you could have about 10,000 seeds and still DL at only 300kb/s and i think the easy way to solve this would be to throw in a ratio because it definetly made me start to seed alot more and probally alot of others too. when i joined demonoid i must admit i didnt seed much at other sites but with the ratio there i have uploaded over 70gb and have a 0.5 something ratio so basicly me seeing how much and other people seeing how much i upload makes me want to upload more so i dont just look like a taker and has the same affect on most demonoid user if you check other ratios. so what do you people think, will having a ratio for people give us faster download speed and would you upload more because of it?
Personally I dont think having a ratio would be a good thing here.I feel that would put off alot of members,and tho I know that alot of the folk who d/load are not even members who just d/load and run,there are a lot who do become members and contribute to the site and advance to uploading seeding and building up ratios.
Also alot of members/hit and runners are new to the torrent world and dont really understand the concept of seeding/ratios and putting in ratios would drive them away to other sites.Personally myself when I started in the torrent world I looked at some private sites/sites with ratios and was put off by them,and not having great connection speeds it took me long enough to d/load a film let alone even seed it back to decent ratio. but in the end I learned more about the torrent world,and have progressed to owning a seedbox,and uploading.I dont even look at what sort of ratio I have I just upload/d.load and seed to keep the sharing and caring alive.
I also think the best thing to do if you want a good ratio and to seed is to look into getting a seed box,they are not that expensive ($20 a month for mine) and even starting off small is better than nothing.
People are not seeding like they used to or uploading to p2p that`s a fact. Pure & simply it`s because they are receiving letters from ISP`s of have been frightened by the scare tactics & propaganda deployed through the web & media outlets.
As an uploader my PC is on 24-7 seeding new content to others or downloading my next shares for p2p. If I was not uploading I would not be using torrents at all. That`s not quite true http://extratorrent.cc/profile/Noir/ because this guys releases will always be on my shopping list
I am certain as soon as people are more clued up to do share with complete anonymity again confidence will return & p2p will be back to how it was last year. I am banking on that being the case & "keeping the faith".
As for ratios it would be great if everyone just seeded back what they take 1:1 simple in an ideal world. The speed matter does not even register on my "share meter" as long as everyone gets my sh!t i`m a happy bunny. Hopefully they in turn will give what I upload to friends & my mission is complete.
I understand I think how you thinking I have similar thoughtss but the last thing I want to do is share only on a private tracker. I started sharing on a private tracker & felt really restricted. Recently I have thought about returning to doing it that way again but I would rather not.
I don`t know if any of what I have typed is of any use or seemingly off topic but I thought you would find it novel to have a reply hopefully worth the read bruv.

Yep indeed man,the only time I got over 1 MB/s was from a torrent I downloaded from ET,and the best way to build up ratio is uploading torrents,my ratio grew alot once I started uploading,before was hard cause my up speed gets only 50kb/s or around that,in conclusion,ET is very well the way its going,although there are many ppl that hit and run there are also nice ppl that liked the uploader job or the torrent content and would like others to get the same as they did for free so they seed what they got way past the 1:1 ratio,and I hope that spirit remains for a long time!!
