Hi guys i need your help please donate me 1 minute from your precious time.

My hard drive is getting out of space (full) so i thought to burn my movies collection to DVD (4.7gb) ,But iam facing some problems or you can assume i don't know anything about that.
I wanna play those dvd in my dvd player or in LCD tv (usb connectivity). Now the problem is i don't know

(1)in which formates should i make them so they fulfill my both the needs.
(2)how much resolution should they have
(3)which kind of file formate should i download for best quality and less space.
(4)some of the best Tools for converting videos specially .mkv files.
