|  Posted: Thu Jul 29, 2010 21:17  i created and uploaded a torrent. but there is no data being transferred. there are peers indicated. i followed the 'how to upload a torrent' tutorial and used the ET recommended trackers. i can't even download the torrent myself. is my firewall blocking access by the trackers or the peers? how can i tell? do i have to set url filtering in my router (actually that does not seem to be working)? i am using the windows firewall (win7 x64).
i used µTorrent to create the torrent. |

if you did make sure it shows and it is seeding?
if it is not shown in you torrents it is not seeding then. |

I have the file. i created the torrent using utorrent and saved it. i uploaded it via ET. pirate, it does not show in my client (should it?), that is why i tried to download it just like all other torrents. the file and torrent hash are in a separate location from the folders i use with my client.
i think it's ok now. when i look at the torrent via ET it shows seeds and leechers. also, i am not trying to download it now.
this is a learning situation for me, i am new at uploading torrents. is the 1 seed showing on ET me? |

| In the future just make sure the torrent is in your client and shows as "seeding" before uploading to ET. Also, make sure DHT is enabled in your preferences and all should be well.
Yes, if there is only one seed then that would be you. The right-hand column will be leechers (people downloading from you). |
