...o.k. I have noticed a "new" twist to some files now days...
I came across two "New Albums" (torrents) which have a "twist" to them.
If you look at the listing of the files they all have a ".mp3" extension.
Except they are really ".zip" files with a password on them!
(They created the .mp3 file, zipped the file with password protection and then renamed it back to the original .mp3 file name with a .mp3 extension).
Two torrents on this site have been listed this way:
It seems that the person who posted this here (and on The Pirate Bay
and other sites), require you to go to a web page and download a
program which you will need to install. During the install you get to
a page and will find a 13 letter password to unlock your files.
I found that posting the password to these files by someone who
has down loaded the file is the best solution (If the user who posted
this file is "banned" the user will create a "new name" and re post
the same password crap again...maybe a different file)
:!: Banning the IP address is a possible solution for users who do this.
At "The Pirate Bay" it looks like they just delete the torrent (I could not
find the torrent again for these two posting).
