uTorrent - Moving files and rechecking

I wanted to share a few basic tips about rechecking files.
(This info applies to the windows version of uTorrent 2.0.4.)

I frequently find myself in a situation where I want to move files around, but still continue to seed. This is accomplished in uTorrent the following way:
1. Stop the torrent.
2. Right click the file and select "Relocate".
3. Right click the torrent and select "Force Re-Check".
4. Start the torrent.
Force Re-Check can be a pain however, especially for larger torrents. Turns out it isn't always necessary.

If you move a file to a new location on the same physical drive, a recheck is not necessary, even if you renamed the file. (Just skip step 3.)

If you move a file to a different physical drive, a recheck will always be necessary, even if the filename remains the same.

Now lets say you partially download a torrent containing several files, and then move the files to a new physical drive. Sometimes in this situation the recheck will only reach 99%. This happens because a "piece" of the torrent spanned two different files, and when you moved the file that piece no longer passes the check. It is ok when this happens, it doesn't mean the file is changed or corrupt. Simply redownload the broken piece and all is well. (Or seed at 99% by changing priority to "skip". Either way works.)
