Just got this wee memo from my server company and thought it should be shared,

2010-11-28 - Highly monitored trackers you should avoid.
We hate to write about this, but we believe the best away to prevent this from becoming a real problem is to let everyone know. Some trackers are highly monitored by 3rd parties. Large companies and special interest groups connect to the same torrent swarms you do and collect lists of IP addresses connected to specific files. One of this trackers is publicbt.com. We get lots of complaints about torrents running in this tracker.
We strongly recommend everyone to take these things seriously and avoid trackers that are known to be monitored. We have nothing of course against public trackers, but privacy is important for everyone and we definitely don't like being watched.

I know we have a list of banned trackers, but this there such a thing as a list of watched trakers?

PS just did wee check and if anyone out there is d/loading the Cablegate papers leaked by wikileaks then it is probably being tracked,as the one I found has both publicbt.com trackers on it.

well i know one thing for sure from a higher source that uttorent is being watched

people might want to consider not using utorrent if your isp provider is one that will rat you out if they get complaints

this torrent client isn't as better "looking" then uttorent but
less people use it but then again i just posted it on a public site they will probably watch it as well
wave.gifif your watching

not off topic at all it's true but not all can afford seedboxes vpn etc..

if your a regular downloader smart thing to do is check out your isp providers properly
read there rules and what they info the can and can not provide to others

i know that from were im from some isp company offer you a good looking deal
and people jump on them
say $30 = 800gb
what they dont tell you in so many words that you cant us it on torrents and you only get 1 warning from isp before the give info to whom ever it is that want to take legal action

yeah know they get watched a lot but a lotta nubes dont realise this, and thats why we get the shock horror letters from ISP posts in the forum.

What I find from many ISP is the wonderful offer of unlimited d/loads of anything, but then when you read very very small print, you are only allowed like 4GB a month limit and thats when some ISP start to look at what your d/loading.
