what the hell the topic was made then??
so that the answer goes in PM??
well why don't we close forum and who ever need help sends a pm to multi members and see who will give the answer!!!
this was meant so that others who read it get benefited from it as well
not to click on the title thinking they will get an answer and instead...
PM sent!!!

As I said in the post I was looking at doing a tutorial soon(just in middle of something at the mo and cant do it the morow) but heres my PM to Zeeshi
Firstly depends if you have the subs,or you need to rip them first.
If you need to rip them then try this,
http://extratorrent.cc/forum/topic/4725/how+to+rip+dvd+subtitles+to+srt.html
once you have subtitles i normally just add them when converting file to MKV and it seems to work fine so far.The subs will show up as softcoded.
if it doesnt work then you might need to convert your sub files(.srt) to either .sub and .idx,to do this you will need VirtualDub and the plug in VobSub( which contains subresync)
can d/load both from here,
VirtualDub
VobSub
heres tutorials that might help,
http://extratorrent.cc/forum/topic/5326/how+to+convert+sub+and+idx+subtitles+to+a+srt+subtitle+files.html
http://extratorrent.cc/forum/topic/5027/how+to+add+subtitles+to+a+movie+or+tv+series.html
Have also just started using this tool called mkvmergegui its part of a MKVToolNix. which seems to be a great tool for editing MKV's but still learning to use this and found it very easy to extract subs then convert to .srt
you can d/load it here, for different OS's downloads are bout half way down the page.
MKVToolNix
Add subtitles to MKV using MKVToolNix
Download and install MKVtoolnix.
Open MKVMergeGUI.
Click "Add." Select the Matroska (MKV) file from the Explorer window. Click "Open."
Click "Add." Select the subtitle file from the Explorer window. Click "Open."
Click "Start Muxing." Wait for the muxing process to complete. After the completion, the Matroska (MKV) will contain subtitles.
hope that helps a wee bit if you need any more info then just ask ,will try and get a tutorial up some time soonish, |

mkvmergegui is the link I PM'd to Alf, it wasnt from another torrent site, and I know the rules regarding posting links from another site...(as does everybody else I think) the questions I sometimes get asked by members, I simply Google them and post any link I find which may pertain to the question asked.....no other torrent sites involved.
So can I assume an outside link (Google etc) is permitted in the forum ?....This was the original question...no offence intended.
