One of the most successful and beloved franchises in videogame history is going to have a brand new release. Of course we’re talking of
Heroes of Might and Magic he classic turn-based strategy game that has been captivating gamers for over 20 years. Ubisoft has announced that the
new installment is scheduled for March 2011 and that it will have all the features fans love and new characteristics that will improve significantly the gameplay experience.
For this new release, Ubisoft teamed up with
Black Hole Entertainment(responsible for
Armies of Exigo and Warhammer: Mark of Chaos)and decided to go on with
a slightly different name: “Might and Magic: Heroes VI”.In spite of this change, producers and developers assured that the game will stay loyal to its roots and that the gameplay and story won’t be affected. This can be supported by the fact that the fanbase is helping in the game’s development through their commentaries on the specialized forums.
However, some rumors indicate that
some features will be modified: both the
resources and half of the
creatures will change in number and abilities. In addition, the
RPG element will be emphasized in order to give the game a more dynamic nature. Among the many innovations
Might and Magic: Heroes VIwill introduce
boss fightsand a
reputation system, but further details weren’t revealed.
As for the story, it will have all the elements Heroes’ fans love: war between heavenly and demonic creatures, great heroes and foes and fantastic creatures with extraordinary abilities,
Set 400 years before the events narrated in Heroes V, the campaign will introduce some new details to the history developed in the world of Ashan.
With improved 3D graphics, a wide array of challenges, numerous tactics to be put in practice and a totally new community interface,
