hi im switching to bt internet and i heard they report you for downloading off torrent sites, can anyone tell me if this is true please and can i avoid this if its true, thankyou for any help
Have heard the same, but not just that they report you, they throttle your connection speeds to a snails pace,or cut you off completely. Also they are really bad for monitoring your download allowance and then doing the above and adding extra charges(quite expensive)for anything d/loaded over your set limit.
Also have heard of loads of folk having problems with the BT home hub and the connections
My advice is to try Talk Talk thats who I used to use, never had any problem from them,no matter how much I used/downloaded from the internet, matter of fact they gave me a good special deal after a while as I used internet so much.

I have been with Virign Media for 3 years now and had not one problem with them. At the start i was using Newsgroup to get files from a mate and i got a letter saying i was downloading too much during 'peak-times'(9am-9pm), as Newgroups use all your bandwidth speed, then, as soon as i stopped, nothing else. Their cheap and i have never had my internet capped. I would recommend Virgin, but on a XL package or higher, its 25MB for around £20-30 a month. But, they have loads of special offers in magazines and stuff. Like i say, i havent had one bit of trouble with them.
Def dont go with BT full of crap tell you unlimited broadband blah blah then send you msg around the 80GB mark and slow down your connection (if your monthly) till your next month starts up stating the old fair useage shite, so nope fook BT
