| Posted: Wed Apr 06, 2011 23:24 Author: Hello, back in december last year, I uploaded a torrent "The Pumpkin Man An Evening With", something went wrong though and I couldnt get it to download with the other machine, rather than leave it up there in a non functional state, I just deleted it off in the admin page, now I have found that the file was in the wrong folder in this machine, so I made a fresh torrent with the rar file, and tried to upload, no joy, I get a message say "This torrent is already in our database"
Maybe the admins can help to trace and remove it from the database please.
The other issue I found was that when I used the tracker urls that are suggested on the upload pages, the utorrent gave a message, "please enter a valid tracker url" and would not let me complete the file.
Well no rush, but I wouldnt mind some advice on that too,
Thanks

| Right first thing you need to do is get the "hash" number of your torrent cleared her on ET,as when you deleted it originally the hash number will have stayed on ET's data base.
Step 1 - Get torrents hash number,if your using utorrent heres how to get it.if yuor using another client it will be found in a similar way,
How to See the Info Hash in Utorrent
Step 2 - Post a request to get the hash cleared here,you need to include the torrent description and hash number.
Need a Torrent Hash Cleared For Reuploading
as for the trackers,copy and paste the ET recomended trakers in the torrent when creating it,but be aware they will not work if you just paste them like this,
We suggest you to use following open trackers for your torrents
* http://exodus.1337x.org/announce
* http://tracker.publicbt.com:80/announce
* http://nemesis.1337x.org/announce
* http://10.rarbg.com/announce
* http://genesis.1337x.org:1337/announce
* http://pow7.com/announce
you must delete the *'s and have spaces between the trackes so they look like this when creating the torrent,
http://exodus.1337x.org/announce
http://tracker.publicbt.com:80/announce
http://nemesis.1337x.org/announce
http://10.rarbg.com/announce
http://genesis.1337x.org:1337/announce
http://pow7.com/announce
then there should be no problem,also remember when adding trackers to torrent to ensure you have checked this "banned tracker lis" so you dont have any on your torrent.

Hope that helps
[EDIT] - Preferably dont upload your content in a RAR file just upload it as a folder with the files in it,some folk dont have winrar extracter,and it is easier fo folk to d/load only parts of files if they dont want it all.
[EDIT AGAIN!] - also when uploading to ET read the rules on the upload page,before uploading you might get some useful info like " - Don't Upload torrent using more than 10-15 trackers "
its there for a reason | |

Also, thanks for the info regarding trackers, and it turns out that I had uploaded torrents with too many trackers, I thought that would just increase the search index or something and didnt realise it was counter to good practise, anyway, I have deleted the baddies,
Now I have to queue to get verified as my status was deleted

m8..if u re-create a torrent of same file again, the hash will remain the same!!! torrent hash is a unique no. for a torrent!!! one torrent cannot have more than one hash!!
if u re-create torrent of same file, the hash will remain same!!
