The Guard
is a comedy about an Irish police officer teams up with FBI to destroy an international organization that sells drugs in Ireland.

The script is written and directed by John Michael McDonagh, while the main roles are played by the following: Brendan Gleeson, Don Cheadle and Mark Strong.

In the heart of The Guard is a total cop with unorthodox behavior, Sergeant Gerry Boyle, who chooses a way as to deal with a unique international band of drug dealers. The situation becomes even more tangled when work disappears a colleague of his and his little town becomes a key element in a large investigation into drug trafficking world. Gerry is not happy with all the fuss around him, especially as he led his department for years after his own heart, and now is not impressed by this landscape of the FBI.

American premiere on the big screen comedy takes place on 29 July 2011 and will be distributed in theaters by Sony Pictures Classics. The Guard will need parental consent to be watched by children up to seventeen years, because of violence, language, sexual content and drug use.
