problem that fans have had with "Vampire Hunter D - Bloodlust", is that unlike most anime, it was actually initially made as an English version, and only then dubbed to Japanese. This has introduced a bit of confusion when people have wanted the movie in the "original" language. Some, on the other hand simply haven't been comfortable watching anime in any other language than Japanese. Others still have wanted to compare the different versions (since the story actually is a bit different between them).
Also, since the English and Japanese versions were two separate releases, no dual-audio versions of this movie have been available... until now. I took it upon myself to combine a good English release by Anime4Ever with a Japanese release from Digital Panic, so now everybody gets what they want.
What I've taken from which versions, how, and why:
-Video - 2 CD DivX5 rip. It was the best non-hardsubbed video I could find. I merged the two files into one, for easier processing and cut the overlapping bits. (I don't think most people use CD:s for backup any more anyway)
-English audio - Here too the overlapping parts obviously had to be cut.
From Digital Panic:
-Japanese audio - I had to insert some silence into the beginning of the audio in order to synchronize it with the video. I also cranked up the volume a notch, since it was very low.
-Subs - Unfortunately DP used hard subs, forcing me to painstakingly redo them. I made minor changes - mostly not to die from boredom - fixed a few errors, and probably introduced some of my own.
